He said they used LS6 parts cause they ran out of LS1 parts. But of course we all know the only parts that LS1s got from the LS6 came in 01/02, and those are the LS6 intake, and a small percentage actually got the LS6 block (no diff in hp with the block) There were also other things these models got over the previous years, like LS6 oil pump, stronger rod bolts, and LS6 clutch and hydraulics if a m6.

And this is on all f bods of the 01/02 year models

I've often wondered why there are some LS1s out there that burn tons of oil and get piston slap, but then there are others (like mine) which use virtually no oil at all (my dipstick level is unchanged in over 8500 miles since I last changed the oil!) and have no piston slap at all. I guess there is a huge variance in how they build them, the quality control must've been pretty relaxed.
