Exclamation What part is this??

I was pulling the intake manifold on a car to do an LS6 PCV and intake swap, and this piece was 99% broken off, barely holding on my the metal sticking out of the block. I didn't realize it, went to push it back in, and it came off. What is this thing? It's located at the back edge of the block. Looks like some is still in the hole on the block.

Ouch. Lookes like the oil pressure sender, which seems to be a pretty common thing to break, unfortunatley...I may be wrong, though.

Yeah it is the oil sending unit...We're all good now...I just need to find the part number for it now. But we're all good, nothing too serious. The feeling of relief:

They make a special socket for it as well. You can get it and I think rent it at autozone.

Anyone know the part number for this?? I need the part that screws into the block and the black plastic tube thing with all the crap in it. Are they separate parts or is it all in one unit?

Yea I got that too...I had to special order the sensor though, hope it doesn't take too long. I've done this swap a few times, never had a problem with it before, in fact, never even noticed it until now! Well, you live and learn!

I told you I broke mine, I figured you'd probably break yours, and I warned you not to break it. Haha. At least you're making progress.

Yeah, I know. I did check it, but didn't think to until after I had asked.

Part's ordered, along with the LS6 valley cover, but, unlike I was told, they aren't in stock and had to be special ordered.

Maybe I'll get them this month lol...
