How good is the ARE 422?

How good is the ARE 422?

I am thinking of going from my 383 CI to 422 CI.
Did any body experience any problems with them? Do they have any sleeve problem? Does anyone recommend a different shop to get it from? How is the reliability of these big bore? I want to drive it every day!!

I've heared nothing but good about ARE motors. However, since that you live in Texas who don't you choose a tuner who is close to you? Trust me, it is worth it! . Go to MTI & you'll have a 2 year warranty <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Yeah, I am thinking about MTI, they do good work!

ARE sells the 422 block for $2400. I have no idea what MTI charges! If it was in the same neighborhood I might go there. I just want to see my options.

Block $2400
Pistons $600
Preparing my S2 heads for the 4.1” bore $800 to $1000
Labor? $1000?
Overhaul kit $?
