Arrow Help!!! Having trouble w/ pulley install.

I was trying to install the pulley and when i was tightening the bolt for the pulley i stripped 1/4 inch of the thread. Will i have to re-thread the crank or is it possible that just the bolt stripped?

Not to add salt to your wound but it has been stated again and again - do not use the stock bolt to pull the pulley on. If it's just a 1/4 inch, just clean up the threads on the crank, get a longer bolt or better yet - threaded rod and nut and wahers - pull the pulley on, tighten it down, then put the new bolt in and torque it down.

I would use an old bolt and clean out the threads. Then get a piece of threaded rod and some washers and a nut to pull the pulley back on

Bake the pulley in the oven at 200 degrees for an hour. It will slide on far enough that the stock bolt wil have plenty of threads to grab. (assuming you are able to clean up the damaged threads)

I got my threaded rod (1m length), bolts and washers from macmastercar.com

I have a pretty good system for taking it off/putting it on.
