Default Head Question

I installed a tempature sending unit into my passanger side head and it leaked off the bat and i kept tighting it and it seemed to be fine. Ive checked several times but i cant check it when its running because i have to take the egr and some spark plug wires to get to it. When i shut it off and go up into the engine bay and listen it sounds like something is relieving pressure. I was wonder if there was alittle air leak in that plug would that be a bad thing for my engine? Also i have a pretty bad ticking going on. I can actually hear it sometimes driving the car around. It gets louder when i rev it, ill have to check for an exhaust leak but i dont think that is it. Checked the egr gasket many times. Is it possible it is a bad lifter with 55k miles on the car? Thanks for all the help
Justin

For the temp sensor, did you put teflon sealant tape or some other thread sealant on there?

As for the lifters, it is indeed possible to have a bad lifter at any milage. If youre sure its not an arcing plug wire, exhaust leak, AIR check valve, or the infamous piston slap. Its a big pain in the *** to change out lifters since you have to pull the heads.

I used the liquid teflon stuff. I couldnt get a wrench in there to tighten it super tight plus i didnt want to break the brass off in the head. Ill check it again and make sure and tighten it too. Also i think i found the ticking problem. Lose spark plugs. Found two lose ones on just the driver side. Forgot to check them since i put them in. Heat must of backed them off. Thanks alot for the help
