So Lost on a cam. Done tons of research. Still lost
Hey guys I'm lost AGAIN
I want to decide on a cam before I go stall because I don't want to understall.
I was set on the f14, but now am looking around again
I want something that is going to be great at the track, yet still be very streetable. I also want something that will sound badass. Then I want something that will make good torque numbers.
Let me know what you guys recommend. I'm still lost on this

I was just like you for a while, The sound will come with headers, cam and exhaust no problem there.I went with crane 216/224 LSA 115 and 1.8 Gold roller rockers from Vinci High Performance.Great Cam Very Streetable and Great Torque uptop. Along with my Yank 3200 stall you cant beat that combo for daily driving and track for weekends. Now I still have to hook up more.

if you want something streetable get the cheater cam & if you want a badass sound get Trak .

My recommendation ,so your not wanting more eventually.
Since you have no future plans for FI and you want a streetable cam that will give you the best power/drivablility for a cam only car. Look for a traditional 50/50 split cam and keep the lift under or around .580, plus I bet you don't want to change springs more than once every 25k or so. If you want an aggressive sound get a 112 LSA cam, plus you'l like the power band better, just make sure you get a good tune.
Get you stall 1st, this will make things easier for your tuner and make streetablility better with a cam. I would recommend a 3500 stall or more maybe 3800.
Just make sure either way you get a good tune, that will make or break your setup. Talk to your tuner to and get recommendations. You would be surprised how drivable bigger cams are to with a good tune.

Go look on speed inc's website, they have a comp cam that's 224/228, I run something very similar, and have been very happy with it. As for the stall... I'd reccommend going as big as you think you can tolerate. I definately wouldn't go anythign less then 3500. All the guys I know have only gone faster by going with a looser stall, and the only time it's really noticable when driving around is when you try to go up a hill or really get on it. Fuddle could probably make a good reccomendation, a guy I know with full exhaust, 3.73's and 100 shot went 11.6 with one of their 3400 stall's, with a cam you will probably want that at a minimum, probably be better off higher.
You can go with one of the monster cams out there... but will regret it in the long run, they drive like **** and hammer valvesprings senseless, and don't make enough power IMO over the smaller stuff that's out there to justify the extra 10 hp on the top end.. never mind that they generally make zero power under 3500.

We have made great power and drivability in auto cars with the MS3. You want drivability do yourself a favor and stick with a smallish stall like 2800-3000 works good and does not feel like it is slipping ALL the time. And change out the gear it will prob be your best mod yet.

Gears will be set at 373's....Stall I'm thinking a fuddle 3800 or fuddle 4k
Just the cam. The MS3 seems big, and I'm not sure about it.
I'm thinking maybe a custom grind cam
225/225 595/595 112 or 114
Any opinions on it? Small cam big lift. Buddy had it in put down 404 through a manualand went I think 11.7 with it. So it makes good power. I think the fuddle 3800 might be a good choice with that one. Then if I go MS3 get the 4k

1st and formost how would it drive on the street with a 4k stall
Next is Track numbers. Will it put me at 11.5 cam only
Then how will it sound
Then last dyno numbers
Again 11.5 would be with full bolt on 373's and 4k stall

Flip a coin and go with it.........its big cam extravaganza dayz!
Doesnt matter how big you you go...cause you can always tune it to be streeable...right?
Whatever..
J/K
Here is my opinion..........course no one ever wants it.
When in doubt..........TR224 112 or 114 lsa
If you are staying with stock heads.........its the best bang for the buck in the f bods. Sounds bad azz......exellent strip cam with good manners.
3 outta 4 racers agree......

The cam that eastside did for me made 403 thru a 12 bolt w/4.10's and a heavy nitrous steel driveshaft. thru stock driveline it would have been more like 415 to 420. Tq was 389, and was over 320 for nearly the entire pull.
It's very similar to the 224/228 that speed inc has on their website.
As for streetability of a 4000 stall.. I 'll let you know in a few months how a 4500 is, that's what I went with for my th400 swap.
