Default Easy to increase ring gap on an already assembled short block?

I plan on buying an already assembled short block, but the ring gaps seem rather tight for a 100 to 150 shot of nitrous in my opinion.

427 motor - top ring .016, second ring .015

How difficult would it be for me (a newbie) to pull the pistons, enlarge the ring gaps and re-install the pistons? Any problems or issues in doing this?

Thanks, Perry

You might not need to touch the rings for that small a shot on that big a motor. Maybe check with the nitrous forum.

Thanks for the help guys.

I will check with Diamond and if they are good with the gaps for a small shot, just leave them alone.

Thanks, Perry
