bottom sprocket on timing set, replace?
does everyone replace the bottom gear? i bought a new rollmaster hd timing set and it cam with a new bottom gear but my write up doesnt mention anything about replacing it. i checked my service manual on it and i guess theres a special tool needed to replace it.
is this worth going through the trouble replacing it or will it be good? the teeth on the gear look great, no cupping or anything

I'd go ahead and replace it if you got a whole new set. It's really not that hard to take off. I put the crank bolt back in the crank and used a 3-arm puller to get it off. It's quite easy and I'm sure there are other ways as well.
Also, make SURE you put the gear back on the crank with 0 degrees of timing advance/retard. The instructions tell you how to do it and make sure you align it with the correct dot (there are two dots on the sprocket in different places).
