well just started the 98 camaro and heard a loud POP from the engine. quickly shut it off, started it again and KECHUNCK KERCHUNK KERCHUNK. im no engine mechanic but id say something internal is wrong...
with that said, what are my options with replacing this engine? as always money is a concern and im not looking for a racer, just a daily driver that likes to go fast, but would like best as my budget allows.(4000 installed) i dont have a garage or would think about yanking it out and rebuilding it.
im not sure what other engines can be used. ive seen all differenent setup on here and in magazines, but just looking for something easy. i appreciate it

also seen alot of short blocks and long blocks/crates some for corvettes. will these work? any trouble with emissions?
