the stock rear will be your first problem with basic things, especially if its an M6. Just dont try to hook up too much at the track, and you should be alright with basic boltons.

You will need subframe connectors to prevent chassis flex aswell as forged internals(rods and pistons) for anything above 550rwhp, the stock crank is good up to like 1000rwhp I think. Rearend is deffinetely something that needs to be upgraded if you put any sort of sticky tire on the car, especially if your car is an M6. Start with the basic bolt ons like a lid, headers, Y pipe (catted or ory), cat back. Then you can put a cam in it if you would like or maybe H/C package or go forced induction. An intake manifold is not required since you have a 2001 which comes with an Ls6 manifold.

Depends on what you want. IF you are looking at a primary track type car then I would start saving NOW for a rearend ,good clutch, and rod bolts. Nitrous is a initially cheap and easy way to get fast times. Stock pistons are limited to about a 150 shot on a stock cam car. If you are running a HC car on stock pistons then about 100 shot is about all I would run. Give us an idea of budget and we can get you going in a good direction.
