Default Need help with cam

I am buying this cam from someone local for $200. He gave me a lot of number for grind numbers. I tried Comp Cam web site but he told me the spec of the cam is 230/230 112 LSA .591/.591 lift. Is the cam right? Will my car idle rough after I got the proper tune on stock head? How this cam will perform on stock heads and some nitrous or blower application? Also, what size push rods do I need for this cam? 7.400? Can someone tell me all those numbers mean? What should I look for on an used cam before buying?

Thanks!

It is a fairly large cam to be used with stock heads. And as far as nitrous or boost it is definatly not ideal you want a cam with a good amount of split for either. Pick a route you want to go first then deciede on a cam. All the #'s are lob styles. Buy a reputable cam for your application.

Exactly what Nasty said. Sounds like you don't want a rough idle. If you wanna go big but not such a rough idle you'll need to get it at least on a 114 LSA, but even that will be a little rough. I wouldn't go that pick on stock heads cause the engine gotta breathe to make use of a big cam.

What are your goals, plans and what do you want the car to sound like??

I don't want my car to sound like **** but it is not my DD so it can be fairly loud. For now, I dont have money for heads this year. However, I may buy a dry kit of nirtrous this year. STS or supercharger maybe somewhere down the roll.

My goal is mid-low 11's on motor and 10's on 100 shot of juice. 380-400 rwhp on my automatic.

I have a built 4L60E and Fuddle 3800 rpm stall + all the boltons done lid, exhaust, pulley etc .. etc ..

So you guys are saying that it is a good N/A cam but not a good blower/nitrous cam.
