Cam/Head choice
After that you can do away with the stuff and do your H/C, but you will have a sticker saying 2000 Camaro. Depending on who you go after that for your bi-annual, you may or may not get pegged for EGR. EGR is the first and most obvious thing checked for.
I just called Thunder racing and talke to David there. I told him my situation and he said i will be fine with the 224 cam if i use the 2000+ manifold just wont be making power as the LT's would. But he said that i will pass smog and that i should get 3:73 or 4:10 in the rear and also get a 2800-3200 stall. Later down the road i could add the LT's and find a cool smog shop. I feel much better now.
But, do let me know how it goes with the inspection and the cam.
The worst is he'd send you home to come back later to get certified. Tell him you bought it that way, and assumed it was stock. That might be a plan. Worst is they won't give you the sticker, come back later with the stock stuff and you should be good to go. Make them earn their pay.
