Default installing rocker arms

what is the procedure for installing the factory ls1 rocker arms??

It is covered on ls1howto.com, but basically it is a tighten until 22 lb-ft on the rocker bolts but the rockers should be on the base circle of the cam. So with the crank at TDC you do specific rockers and then rotate one turn and do the others. I would also turn again and re-check and then one more time and check the last of them.

Put on torque to 22ftlbs. crank over engine (not run) re-torque.

Default Gm Spec

As stated in the GM service manual

Rotate crank till #1 cyl is TDC of compression stroke
In this position, cyl #1 rocker arms will be off lobe lift

Tighten Exhaust rockers #1,2,7,8 to 22ft#
Tighten Intake rockers #1,3,4,5 to 22ft#

Rotate the crank 360 degrees

Tighten Exhaust rockers #3,4,5,6 to 22ft#
Tighten Intake rockers #2,6,7,8 to 22ft#
