Default Help With Cam Install

I got a new cam and install kit. Looks like the guy that was gonna help me fell off the face of the earth. I live in Rochester, NY which is upstate. If anyone knows someone good that can help me install this, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to get this done by spring time.

GO TO CAM GUIDE STICKY IN THIS SECTION and to ls1howto.com..everything you would ever need to know about a cam install is in those two places..plus there are photos too..go to it man..you don't need anyone to help ya..hundreds of guys on here have done it.. If ya get a problem along the way post up on here and there will be lot of people willing to help with install advise.. by spring time?? ..you should be able to do it in a day or two at the most depending on your mechanical aptitude....GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CAM INSTALL..

Dude if you need to talk with someone there is a shop in your area, New Era Performance. I think they will install it for less then $500 maybe even $400 forgot what it was. It would help to just go there and talk to one them. Check out the link on the sponsor list....

Do a alot of reading and asking questions, go to Ls1howto.com and do the install yourself. My cam install was my first ever and I'm so glad I did it myself.

I've been doing some reading on the whole install and stuff but I'm just afraid of messing something up. I would feel more comfortable if I had someone that has done it before to help out. If things don't work out with someone, I'll end up doing it alone.

there 57,408 members on this board. your not too alone, im positive if you have any problems you'll get quick responses. It seems like there is alot of people doing their own cam installs and plenty of them chime in when someone post up they have a problem.

I am seriously considering doing my own too to save cash. And im not the most mechanically inclined person. Im not worried if i run into problems because I know I can either find a solution on the board or someone will give me help when i post.

do it yourself, its not really that hard. i just finished mine last weekend. by myself i did it over a span of 3 days and really took my time to double check everything i did.

Go to ls1howto.com and print out the directions and go to it.

Yeah. That's very true. I'm extremely impressed about everything on this forum.

I too say do it yourself. read the howto a dozen times till its memorized. then print out a copy and go through it step by step. Its not rocket surgery.

It's not that bad to do. Take your time. Get some good tools; they're an investment.

Grab your sack and do it. Remember..........cleanliness is next to godliness.

First time I did a cam install I was scared to death. After it was over it wasnt that bad at all. You can do it, be patient. If you get frustrated take a break and come back later.

good luck
