Default LS1 Cam/computer programing

I have a 99 Z28 with the LS1. I have all of the air intake done and full exhaust with longtube headers. I want to change cams and was thinking about getting the GM performace parts 12480033 Camshaft kit because it comes with the prings and is a good price. Is this a good one to go with or am I wasting my time. I want it to sound good and be able to drive it with out any problems. This is a weekend car. Also how do I go about programing my computer. I live in Maryland. I am assuming that I wont be able to do it with one of those Hyper tech programers. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

As for tuning, look in the PCM Tuning forum, three under this one. I use HPTuners and it is great for a DYI guy. There are others as well.
