Yeah, I think Tony @ AFR has a 383. Shafiroff is a reputable engine company.

I will prolly get one this Summer (383 Deluxe), meaning with cam degreed, all plugs and covers/oil pump installed.

Just posted results from an engine utilizing one of their kits...I opted to build my own but they offer assembled versions as well.

Good luck...

I know they have been around for a long time. I saw a car at the World street finals one year that had "Shafted by Shafiroff, Buyer beware" on the back window. I have no idea what led to that, but I never hear the name Shafiroff without thinking about that. I have seen a lot of cars put down some great numbers with their engines though.

Scott Shafiroff is a well known guy in the drag racing world.. Especially when it comes to BIG bad *** chevy motors and BIG nitrous setups! I know quite a few guys running his stuff and they love it. A very close friend of mine runs a Shafiroff 706cid Nitrous Motor that goes consistent 4.30's in the 1/8th mile..

I hear you on that but if he doesnt build alot of LS1 engines that doesnt mean alot. Here in Spartanburg where I live Gene Fulton builds the quickest and fastest 706 nitrous injected pro mod engines in the world as seen in Shannon Jenkins car but Fulton Competition doesnt fool with LS1 stuff at all.
