Ticking noise ???

Just went and test drove a 1999 Trans-am everything was fine, except on the start up there was a consistant ticking noise that increased with RPM coming from engine.

after the test drive the noise stopped...any ideas?

Piston slap its normal almost the ls1's do it since they are high compression it is considered "normal"

according to GM...Bargain the Dealership on the price and say there's something wrong with the lifters or make some **** up....anyway if it goes away its piston slap

Yeah its pretty commen, some are worst then others but most likley its piston slap

thats what I thought...anyone have a video clip or sound byte of piston slap???

so theres no concern here?

car has 23k on it.

Its piston slap, all the other 5 of my cars had it, but my 99 TA doesnt, very odd and it has 70K miles, but I'm not complaining!
