prc's vs patriot Which heads are bettter?who's giving a better deal(including dual springs kit)? which head is performing better?I'm about to place the order i just don't know which one to go with,i'm very undecided. As far as the cam i think i will go with an f13,but not sure, since my car is a daily driver.please post up all of your suggestions |
I went with the Patriots because they come with dual springs and don't have as large of runner volume. The PRC's are cheaper until you swap out the LS6 springs they come with for duals. |

oops double post. |
They flow almost identical. Gunnar at Patriot is the man when it comes to taking care of you after the sale. Dont believe me then start a thread and ask peoples opinion of him. Outstanding service. |

Patriot all the way. The stage II LS6 style heads work real good with the F13. That combo will also make for a good daily driver, you will be more than pleased. Plus the customer service cant be beat. |
prc heads all the way,i had patriot not impressed with the power at all, swapped over to prc's and picked up 20rwhp go figure. |

Thanks for all the good words and the business. We have made many inprovemnets on our heads over the last couple of years. We continue to strive to provide the best product for the best price. |
thanks for all the opinions.i know patriot gives me free bolts and gaskets, and i believe free shipping also.i guess i will be calling patriot and prc,and see what i can buy. Can't wait to order! |
7-1 Patriot wins, give Gunnar a call you want be disapointed. |
i just picked my self up a set of prc heads and a torquer 2 cam which is fairly close to the f13, everythings installed but theres still tons of salt and snow on the roads up here in wisconsin so it will probally be at least a month till it gets dyno tuned. texas speed and performance has great customer service though and theyll great price on a package deal with all youll need. |

I disagree that they flow the same. Take some time & look around the dyno section for results. Our street 899 LS6 heads have gone 468rwhp on a Z06 on Corvetteforum. I won't spend a lot of time talking different products, just look at recent results in the dyno section :) I think you'll like the PRC results :) Jon Texas Speed www.texas-speed.com |
Does anybody have dyno results of the stage II Patriot LS6 style heads? I hope there is some benefit with the smaller runners of the Patriots, since that's why I chose them for my fairly small cam. |
All that I could find in short order. I *think* these are the same heads being referred to in comparison to the PRC heads....the $849 jobbers, but these heads have the valve upgrade to 2.02/1.57. https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/443838-pp-s-heads-s.html The setups are different, so it's hard to get an apples to apples comparison. Both heads make gains. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=442144&page=1 That's for the PRC heads with, I *think* 2.00/1.55 valves. I haven't followed the corvetteforum link posted above. Both seems to do well, from the dyno it looks like PRC gets the nod with the 2.00/1.55 valves...but there's probably something in the config i'm missing. |
