Default Doing Heads and Cam pkg, few questions.

Hey guys

Im doing a head and cam package on a "budget."
Dont have endless pockets!
Wish I did.

Mod list:

-PRC LS6 heads with STOCK size valves.
-Dual springs
-TSP MS3 Cam Package.

Now I was told I should do these things too, but do I HAVE to do them with the package or can they wait...
-ASP underdrive pulley.
-FAST 36lb injectors (stock zo6 injectors arent enough for 460rwhp?).
-Ported LS6 oil pump, double roller TC, and 160 thermos.

Already Done..
-TPIS Longtubes
-Halltech Stinger.
-GHL Catback
-TNT Wet kit. (might not spray this season)

Thanks guys!!

-Ported LS6 oil pump (Really not necessary, the ZO6 one you have is fine)
-Double roller TC
-160 thermos.
I modified your list a bit, but that should work.

No need for double roller chain, LS2 chains are beefy enough for that hp. Pulley is not needed, but provides a few nice ponies. I would get the injectors to play it safe and have a little more room to work with for tuning. If your car doesn't have like 75-100k miles, I'd say your oil pump is fine as well. The rest looks fine.

I agree. I would also add that the 160 TS is not needed. You can make your car run as cool as you'd ever want it to by just tweeking the fan settings. I ran a 160 TS for awhile and didn't like it. I'm much happier with a 180 TS and revised fan settings.

Doing the pulley at time of cam install will save the hassle of removing the steering rack later down the line, and that is something to consider......

I'd at least do the LS2 chain as it's only like $35, and if you're oil press. is good and you have minimal miles you "should" be able to get away with the stock LS6 oil pump.

I'm running cam only around 440whp on stock 28lb injectors, but that's not to say that I wouldn't mind a set of 30lbers......

Good luck and remember you can recoup some money from your stock heads to pay for those extra parts that you may want to do....
