5.3L help
I've been working on a 67' impala I found in a junkyard and have always wanted a nice Gen III under the hood of a classic car... a buddy of mine sold me the 5.3L from his 2000 Silverado that he wrecked uninsured and I wanted to explore the possibility of adding a cam and LS6 intake manifold for some power gains (a '67 deserves a little more than 285 hp). I'm going to be using a megasquirt controller so there shouldn't be that many headaches along the way. I know that the procedure for the intake manifold swap from LS6 to LS1 is well documented, but does anybody have any on here have experiences using a LS series intake manifold on a truck engine? Hours of googling and checking gm sites and I'm back to where I started with no idea if this would be a possibility. If it would, it could be pretty popular with folks who want to swap these engines into cars with low hood clearance. Anyhow, if anybody has any info on this or any tips on cranking any more power out of this engine that aren't elsewhere on this site let me know!
