stock timing set differences?

stock timing set differences? Is there a difference between the 97-00 and 01+ timing sets?
Yesterday I set my timing chian with the heads off the car, and remember placing piston #1 at TDC. I put the cam sprocket on and the dots lined up perfectly.
Later that night, I was helping my buddy put his cam in (pulled shortblock). I noticed that at #1 TDC, the dots were off by just a hair. I had to rotate a few degrees past TDC to get the dots to line up.
Were one of the timing sets advanced more than the other?
