Default Checking P/V clearance

I am about to install a TRex camshaft on my LS1. The specs on the cam are a bit higher than the advertised specs for the TRex. My heads havent been milled or anything like that, but Thunder recomends that everyone with this cam checks their p/v clearance. I do not want to pull the heads on my car for the install, so is their any other way to check p/v clearance? When I turn the crank by hand after the cam is installed, and I dont have any problems, is that a good enough test for legitimate p/v clearance? Thanks

You should be fine as long as the heads haven't been touched. Usually the T-Rex is around 244/250 on a 109 on the cam cards....

Install checking springs on cylinder #1. Install an ajustable pushrod that just takes out the lash with the rocker bolted down (don't depress the spring). Rotate the motor from 20* before to 20* after TDC in 2* increments on the intake and then afterwards the exhaust valve. Use a dial indicator, and each time you stop at a 2* increment, depress the valve until it just touches the piston and record the value. The minimum value for each valve is your PV clearance. This should require head removal.
