Default cam question

hey guys i wasnt sure whee to post this...i want to buy a cam for my ws6...but i dont want a HUGE one just a good performance one that will get me a few more horses...not tryin to be king of the track or anything...just something noticable to the street! whats a good size???...what will it cost to install???....and how much will it effect my gas millage??? thanks guys

224/228 will cost around $500 for the install and your gas mileage loss will depend on the tune you get. Also if you're an A4 guy you should look into a stall convertor before you get the cam IMO.

If you need to pass emissions I wouldn't go much bigger than a 224/224. If you have a manual and like the lope get the 224/244 lsa 112 if you have an auto stick with the 224/224 lsa 114. VERY popular cams with a lot of satisfied customers including me

About $550 for a kit which includes the cam, pushrods and valvesprings.
If you are handy with a wrench you can do the install yourself. Its not that bad. If not plan on 300~500 for the install and another 400 or so for a good tune.

what do you guys mean by tuning...iv heard it before...i get the general idea...but what does this mean i little more in a little more detail..thanks for the info by the way...VERY helpful
