Which Amsoil to run?
I'm changin to Amsoil next oil change and i was wondering which one to use? Which one do u run?
I was thinkin this one would be a good choice......
(AMO) SAE 10W-40 Synthetic High Performance Motor Oil
But i remember seein some of u used the european formula...
(AFL) European Car Formula Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil
And i'm gonna be changin the tranny fluid soon...so would changin to amsoil be a good idea? or should i just stick with whatever the stock GM stuff is?

Hey man..i usually run GC, but this past oil change i tried the European formula 5w40..my motor def. seems to be a little quieter, but it could be due to the fact that the weather is a little warmer now. My car seems to hold great oil pressure with the 5w40 also. Do any of you have a UOA with this oil? i'd be interested to see how it performs compared to GC.

Do some research and draw your own conclusions. There is a lot of good oil out there today. I believe Amsoil and Mobil1 are at the top of the list. just depends on what you need.

Anyhow, sorry to get off track.

For the winter, the Amsoil 0w30 would be good since you won't see high oil temps very often, but they recently reformulated it and it's a bit thinner than it used to be. So for summer use their 5w40 is still the better choice, especially if you drive it hard and get the oil temps higher.
