Default New Cam Specs

I'm looking for more bottom end torque along with peak HP. I'm told with a dyno tune I should be able to build lower end torque and at least another 35 rwhp. Also, even though I no longer have to pass the sniffer, just the OBDII scan, do you think this cam could be EPA compliant? The cam is supposed to be very tunable and quite stealthy. My car is a street car and goes to the track once a year for a few timeslips. What do you think? Thanks.

i don't think that would be a very good cam, as those reverse split cams like very free flowing exhaust, and i think your cats will choke off any potential of low end tq. you might consider a 220/224 or the standby 224/224. maybe even a 224/228 if you are feeling frisky.

For more bottom end torque, you want to close your intake valve earlier. This will give you increase cylinder pressure and more low end torque ( at the sacrifice of top-end power). A 224/224 110LSA, 110ICL cam would be a better approach.

Cut it back to a 226/222 113 109 and you'll get better torque. A 224/224 113 110 would probably work better.

Patrick, your suggested cam will make great torque but take a serious tune to pass a sniffer if he ever wants to do that.

That is the 224 I suggested they run on A4's instead of 114+4 (LSA), and at -2 degrees overlap it would pass sniffer with proper tune. i like your way of thinking Ragtop 99
