ARP studs are about $235. What they do for you is allow you to take the heads off w/o replacing the head bolts every time and you don't have to take the chance of stripping a bolt hole in the deck and you don't have to clean the threads each time you remove the heads and they are easier to install than the OEM bolts. With the ARP you just torque them to the proper torque. With the OEM bolts you are suppose to add stretch to your head bolts by using a tool that measures the degrees you turn the bolt after a particular torque is reached.
At least, that's tha way I understand it. I figured it was just easier to buy and install the ARP studs. ARP also makes a bolt set that can be reused and is cheaper than the studs.

Studs are great... but should the need arise, I believe you'll have one heck of a time ever pulling the passenger side head with the motor still in car. At least that's how a vendor explained it to me. With my build I ended up using ARP head bolts for this reason. Just in case.
