P1516 code.... NEED HELP PLEASE!!
blew stock motor
replaced stock motor with HPE 408 with big cam and stage 3 heads and clutch and most drivetrain
car ran awesome for a while until the crank pulley spun off and took out my power steering rack.
replaced power steering rack and crank pulley with new bolt and locktite and an impact gun cranked all the way up...
well... we got the rack in and everything done and start up the car.. idles just fine and we back it out of the garage.. all of a sudden it goes into reduced engine power mode and flashes a code... i check the codes and its flashing a
P1515 code
i shut the car off, clear the codes through the DIC and start it back up... goes straight into reduced power mode... keep clearing it and start it up again, smae thing... this happens a few times.. finally i let it idle for a good 10 minutes and shut it off.. clear my codes, and fire it up... no codes this time... runs liek a champ.. drive 3 blocks away and am on my way home and it does it again... this time its a p1516 code and my throttle will not repsond pretty much at all. (i couldnt tell if it was me changing the idle or just the pcm changing idle because of the cam and no tune) but it wouldnt go do anythign but idle anymore... before i let me rev it up to about 1,500 RPM's...
so now i have no idea what it could be... we didnt mess with any wiring since it ran awesome for 3 weeks...
any ideas before i pay tons of money to the dealership???

I'd bet on that since it was popping up so fast.
Are you running without a MAF?
still have the maf, still have stock tune.
I'd hook up a scanner and watch all three of the TPS readings while you push the pedal.
I think if the two TPS's are too out of wack from the desired throttle angle, it would set the code.
I'm pretty sure the power-loss thing is a safety feature so you can't drive with the bad TPS and/or throttle actuator. Otherwise the actuator could accidently hold the throttle open on you.

the only thing is that it throws the code before i push on the gas pedal.. it throws it as soon as i turn the key... does it pretty much like a pre emtive test failure..
Your throttle controller is your IAC. don't forget that.
hey that makes alot of sense ... i never thought about it that way.. as soon as i put my car in the "on" position it opens the throttle body partially to start the car (as a choke) doesnt it??
that would make sense as to why its doing it right when i put it in the ON position.
buy a corvette....
dealer parts are marked up about double yours... and the wait time and availability is rediculous...
if the interior wasnt so sweet in the vette i would be trading it back in for a 35th anniversary SS and put a blower on it..
