I did a quick search for the difference between 853 cast head and other heads and was wondering if anything changed in the way the heads flowed, bigger valves, combustion chambers etc. Just wondering if anything about the 853 is similar or better than other heads of a different casting. My friends and i discussed it as I had bought an LS1 out of a Corvette and were just randomly assuming it might make a difference. Any info would be greatly appreciated =D

 

The 853's will flow the same as the LS1 241 casting. 243 LS6/LS2 heads will flow much better than the 853 or 241 castings.
