LS6 power package im sure everyone has seen the LS6 power packages available for LS1's, its nothin but a head/cam combination that says your ls1 will have 400 hp, does this sound like a good idea to anyone, or should i find a pair of ls6 heads and use a cam of my choice?

Much better combos out there.
If you like the feeling of being stealth there are more power producing cam that act just as tame.
To name a couple:
LPE GT2-3
CheaTR cam from Thunder
My custom grind 210/224 , .555/.567 115+1 (XE)
As for heads:
PP (243) LS2/LS6 stage 1 (~$875) CNC ported stock valves
Livernois and TSP both have their CNC programs for these heads as well.
