Default 853 vs. 241 heads

Whats the difference between these two heads? (besides the casting #.) Is one better than the other? Just wondering since people regularly seem to specify whether they have 853 or 241s. Thanks.

The 241's are die cast, while the earlier style heads are sand cast. The die cast heads are more consistent and smoother. They flow SLIGHTLY better becuase of this. They are both the same design though, and are equals once ported.
