Question swapping to ARP head studs...one at a time?

just curious how feasable and what the ill effects would be of swapping out stock head bolts to studs one at a time? im talking about with the heads still on and everything. If its already torqued and the gasket is compressed, then wouldnt doing a single bolt at a time work without any issues?

That's a good question. I can't forsee any problems doing it that way, but why would you want to?

Gotcha. Two hours to clean the bolt holes? I spent like a week cleaning them out while I was waiting on my studs!

You will still need to clean them some. There won't be any coolant in there but there will left off lock-tite from the factory bolts and what not. Just letting ya know.

You could do it but I am not sure how successful you will be geting the studs in while the heads is on and the motor is in.
You still need to do some cleaning inside the bolt holes.
Might as well just pull the heads, use new gaskets and be done.
