serious knock retard!!!
serious knock retard!!! I have a 98 Z28 and when I am at WOT in 3rd I start getting some massive knock retard around 3500 RPM's! I have been told by a buddy that the 98's were programmed super sensitive? I am wondering if I have a problem or should I get the sensors reprogrammed?

How much KR are you getting? I have basically given up on trying to remove the 4 degrees I get at WOT. I have gone throught the hassle of replacing the knock sensors, runnning 100 octane gas, getting wide-band measurements, etc etc in hopes of identifying a cause.

I don't know how much timing I am losing. I can feel it and hear it though! Sounds like I am slamming into the rev limiter just at 3500 RPM's! I am assuming that is the knock retard? The rev limiter is set to around 6K. I witnessed that feeling when I was about a quart low on tranny fluid and started slipping like a maddog and the rpm's shot through the roof for a split sec!!
