cam install

has anyone had a hard time to install cam,how do you keep the lifters from falling down when you pull out the old cam??

go to ls1howto.com they show u 3 methods. u can buy a tool from TR or i used 2 doll rods and stuck them in there. u need one on each side.

When you take out the cam retainer plate there are 2 holes above the cam that's where the dowels go. Make sure you spin the cam a few times first

I have also done another cam swap this way. It is really risky though. Sometimes the end of the magnet can come off and you drop it down into your engine along with the lifter if it fails.
