I called the local machine shop/head repair shop (which is located in a low-cost economically stagnent area of Pittsburgh) and after checking to make sure they've done aluminum LS1 valve jobs before, they quoted me $150 per pair for a 3-angle valve job. All I have to do is bring the heads and they'll disassemble, machine, clean and reassemble them. They said something about either a CNC machine or "C-cutting" machine... not sure which because I didn't really catch what he said.

What do you guys think? Is this dangerously cheap?

I pay $60 per side for a 5 angle and throat cut. Public price on that would be about $80. You are right in line.
