805 is the perimeter bolt style pattern and is found on the earliest of LS1's 98'.
853 is on the 99' and some early 00' models.
241 was on the end of the 00' batch and on the 01 and 02 style.
243 is the LS6 style casting.
317 is the 6.0l truck casting.

so since i have a 98 does that mean that the 853,241, 243, and 317 will not work or will they?

Yeah, they will work. Downside is that you will have to get new coil brackets and valve covers to accommodate the center bolt style that all the other castings have.
