Hey guys ... my mechanic has unsucessfuly tried 3 times now to get a new rear main seal in the block, but it is leaking everytime. He says he asked around and a GM dealership told him there is a special $500 tool that allows you to put it in correctly.
Does anyone have any idea where I could rent/borrow one of these tools for a day or two? I doubt anyone in the NY - long island area would have one, but any ideas would be great.
Thanks.

I've installed 3 rear main seals, not on the same car, with nothing but a small screwdriver and some patience with no leaking problems. If mechanic cant do it without the tool look somewhere else. JMO though
