Default used timing chains and rockers

Is it safe to use used double roller timing chains or is there a reason not too? And how often to stock rockers let their bearings go and what causes it?

Yes you can use double rollers but you may have interference issues with some aftermarket crank pulleys. The rockers fail every 56,237 miles....so pay attention to your odometer.

Actually I'm kidding, there is no "set-mileage" as to when the rockers will fail, if ever. My 01 TA has almost 100k on the clock w/o any probs with the rockers...they may never have probs. Not sure what causes it.

Depends on the mileage...timing chains eventually devolop slack in them which can cause slight variations in timing. More mileage=more slack. If its a double roller chain with 15k or less I'd prolly buy it if it was priced ok.

With the rockers you could get Harland Sharp to put new bearings in them to feel better, great price too.

Generally if they do spill their bearings they will just end up in the pan right? and not destroy the engine? Ill have a maganetic plug for sure.
