Engine assembly lube, the red stuff...

Engine assembly lube, the red stuff... So I decided to use the red engine assembly lube by permatex for my cam install. I noticed it is not as slippery as motor oil, its kinda like the consistency of Honey. When I go to start this thing, does the oil flowing through the engine basically wash this stuff off, or did I do a bad thing?
