Default Morel Lifter Setup

I am taking my car apart this weekend to install my new Dart heads. I also have a set of Morel lifters to install. I have bench checked my wipe pattern with the Crane rockers, which are adjustable and have a range of rocker adjustment that yields an acceptable pattern. I know the Morel lifter preload is 0.030" cold. Does anyone know for a fact what the tolerance is on the preload? I have set up a spreadsheet of potential pushrod lengths and adjustment combinations and in order to get a final setup figured out it would be helpful to know how much the Morel preload can be changed from 0.030".

.020 to .040" seems to work the best.

Chris,

I spoke to Rick today and he told me 0.040" - 0.060" cold due to the aluminum block and heads. He seemed concerned setting them shallower than that.

What does he know, he just designed the part!!!! Rick errors to the conservative side which as the mfg he should. Either way you will have good results, good oil pressure, and no problems.
