Default heads question plz help

If I get a pair of ls6 heads and pore them to stage 2 or 3 wud they be as good as any other name brand heads or atleast close to them? And what's the differce between ls1 head and ls6? Am I wasting my money if I get ls6 heads and pore them

You might just skin by if you pore them, but it might be rash.

LS6 heads have a smaller combustion chamber (higher compression, alittle more hp), also they have better intake and exhaust port designs for better flow and more hp.

a set of LS6 heads ported should be pretty comparable to an aftermarket set of heads, the best idea is probably to go with which ever is more cost effective.
also i've heard from a head porter that the difference between a stage 2 and stage 3 port job is only about 8 hp and about $200... to me that is probably not worth it, stage 2 should be fine.

Kool..thanks so I guess ill go with LS6 heads stage 2 how much would that cost? And what kind of springs and push rods are good for those heads thanks
