Did mine myself in 2 days. Shops charge $500-$700, Tune is $400- $550.

I'm getting mine done next week. Cam + ported LS6 oil pump + springs & retainers + pushrods + intake/TB + underdrive pulley & belts + dyno tune = $1000.

I don't have the tools, time, or patience to do the swap on my own. But I do have the money to pay someone who does.

This would depend on where you were and when your cam was put in.

When I had my tr224 put in like... 3 years ago? I paid 700 for the kit including 918 blue stripes, hardened pushrods and titanium retainers, 450 for install and 350 for the tune. $1500 and all I did was drive the car down to the shop.

Here in CA, recently, the prices have reached in excess of 600+ for the install and 400+ for the tune. Really expensive if you ask me. I have done all my own work lately.

I'd assume most prices are close to this for labor nation wide unless you were in somewhere like Wyoming and went to some poor shop who was unsuspecting of what a pain in the *** our cars are and quoted you $300. haha.

I agree with everyone when they say do it yourself. I'm sure all of us on the forum could get help from someone on the forum or a friend with LS1 experience. And even if not, there's sites that walk you through it step by step anyway. The only part youd have trouble with I suspect is tightening the crank bolt.

Anywho, i'd be interested to see what people are paying in the non LS1 heavily populated areas. Places that people can't just drive down the street to one of the sponsors with their parts to get put in. People who have to go to shops who rarely work on fbodies.
