Default Is my next purchase worth it?

I am close to getting a Lunati 10.6:1 forged rotating assembly. It has a $3,250 price tag. I have a stock LS1 block. My target power is eventually 500rwhp, do you think this is wise?

It just depends on your budget. Alot of people run Eagle with no issues. I've seen that sometimes it takes a bit to get the Eagle assemblies balanced, which adds to the Eagles cost. I dont think it would ever reach Callies/Lunati price tags though.

Like I already said, it just depends on your budget, there's better than Lunati as well.

Lunati will be through the roof. You can probably get a forged 408 budget shortblock built for the price of the Lunati stroker kit+labor and what not.

before you drop your coin, call some sponsors. HPE has complete short blocks ready to go in the same ball park of the lunati kits price.

Yep, no need for Lunati in that application. Get a Eagle shortblock built by a sponsor for the price of the rotating assembally alone.

Thanks for the advice, do you think they could build one with a stronger block? Which block should I go for the only ones I know of are the LS6 block and C5R, are thier any other options?

LS1 block is plenty strong, especially if you only want 500rwhp. Keep your block and have it rebuilt with an Eagle rotating assembly. But you will have to have a very radical setup if you want 500 with stock cubes. But you shouldn't plan an engine out with only a peak horsepower number on the dyno as your goal.

lunati is the way to go made in the usa not in china. 3,250 is a good price, from what company are you getting it from.

O.K., you have a valid point. I want a car that will run low 11's w/ no more than a 100 hp N2O shot, be set up for road racing(I know it sounds weird), and not have to worry about constantly fixing something. With that said, is my stock block still sufficient? Is their a stroker kit out there that fits my need? Is a C5R block 427 N/A a little too over the top?
