Default how to verify number from stock cam?

I bought a stock LS6 cam from an '02 Z06. I see the numbers on the side of the cam. How can I verify that this REALLY is the cam from that year car? Thanks

You should find 5308 printed on the back of the cam for a 02+ LS6 cam.

A cam Dr. is a device that is used to measure a camshaft. It gives you all of the lobe events. (lobe centers, lobe lift, open & close location, basically the works.)

On factory camshafts, the numbers cast into or stamped into the core is not a reliable source for determining what cam you have. Most of the time those are numbers from the core manufacturer.

Look in your phone book for high perfomance engine or machine shops. Give them a call and see if they can look it over. Not everone has a cam doctor but someone in your area probably does. Should cost ya about $20 or so.
