Default woo-woo!!!!!!

finally got my cam in and running. can't wait to get it tuned. hopefully on wednesday. i now have a tick or kinda like a quiet diesling sound from intake. is this just the sewing machine sound everyone talks about? it seems to run good. i took it down the road a little ways. cam is tsp 233/239 .598/.603 on 113 lsa. also put in hardened pushrods and dual springs. now it's time to but not at the same time .

yes thats the sewing machine sound you're hearing. it should run good but might be a little lean.. thats how mine was, cam specs are semi-close to yours.

What causes the tick noise?

The springs just make for a noiser valvetrain. The valves are getting shut closer and held open longer...that's what makes that sound.

My TR224 does the same thing. You will also notice that sound a bit more when you go form stock exhaust manifolds to long tube headers, the headers are thin walled compared to the heavy manifolds which are cast iron and thus dampen valvetrain noise quite a bit.
