Balancing Parts
In Order To Balance My Parts Before Assembly I Am Taking Them In To A Local Shop But They're Telling Me That I Need To Bring In The Crank Pulley And Flywheel. Is This Correct?
Not really since the ls1 is internally balanced, but if you have the other parts why not. The crank pulley and flywheel should already be balanced. I have done all my balancing without those pieces for what it's worth with no issues.
Having the pulley and flexplate/flywheel included in the balancing process is just going one step further. It isn't necessary but it helps. The last assy I had balanced they also asked for the pulley and flexplate. They said that the factory pulley was off by quite a margin..... Ended up taking metal from the pulley and a little from the flexplate.

As alot of engine builders like to do this, my opinion ( just that, and opinon) is that the pulley, and flywheel could both need to be changed at some point, a 6 speed car will undoubtly go thru a clutch setup, and st least need the flywheel resurfaced (changing the balance) at some point, unless you are really hard on motors, in that case, why even worry? Plus, flywheels crack/break sometimes, etc.etc.
I'd balance the motor without the pulley or flywheel, and not worry about it.
