Default Pinning crank and balancer questions

I plan on pinning the crank and using the ARP bolt just for peace of mind. I don't have a SC but, at some point inthe future, I might consider it.
My questions:
With just a H/C setup is one pin sufficient? I know some people use two, but I assume that is for SC applications. If I every do get the SC, I could add the 2nd pin at that time.

If you drill the crank and want to change the pulley at some point in the future, how do you drill the new pulley? Aligning the tool to the existing hole in the crank wouldn't be a problem, but when you go to drill, you are essentially trying to drill 1/2 of a hole because the crank is already drilled, and the new pulley is not. Do you just move the tool to a new location?

Thanks for any info on the correct way to do this.

There are two types of setups, one that drills the crank and pulley at the same time from the end and the ATI setup which drills the crank at 90* to the crank centerline. The ATI installs a pin in the crank and you need a keyway in the pulley. The ATI dampers come with one keyway cut, but you can add a second.

I have the first type. (A&A) You bolt it to the crank, and drill the crank and pully at the same time, from the end.

The correct way to do it would be to have someone mill the proper 1/2 diameter hole into the replacement.

That is how I would do it.

I have two pins in mine.

I've been running SC'd for the past year with one pin. I really think it would take alot to spin the crank, even with only one pin.
