help with oil cap in back of crank
Don't worry about it going in too far. When I went to pull the OEM pilot bearing, I thought I could use the "hydraulic" method...you know, where you pack the space between the pilot bearing and the rear of the crank full of grease, and then whack the **** out of a brass drift in the hopes that the grease will hydraulically force the pilot bearing out? Not! I rented a slide hammer, and had the stupid thing out in 10 minutes. The back of the crank, if that is a "cap" didn't budge a nanometer, and I was beating on that drift for all I was worth.
Anyways mine has a slight ridge inside the cavity preventing the plug from going in too far but it fits fairly loose. Loose enough that I can slide in in and out by hand so I am going to try and order a new one.
Part numbers anyone???
