Default Cam Swap

I am finally going to do my cam swap tomorrow and was reading up on the procedure posted a LS1HOWTO.COM.

In the GM factory service manual, in the section describing cam removal, it states to remove the camshaft sensor before pulling the cam. There is nothing in the web procedure about the cam sensor. I have also never heard anyone here say anything about having to remove the sensor during a cam swap.

Is it necessary to pull the cam sensor before pulling the cam ?

Thanks,

Steve

nope. Just go by the ls1howto.com write. I did mine 2 weeks ago, and just make sure to double check everything before cranking her up.

Just take your time and double check all your work, it will pay off. You don't have to take the sensor off.

Your battery is unhooked anyways, cam sensor will not be affected.
