AFR vs. ETP (Which makes more power?)
Which cylinder head would make more power for a 346?
I know AFR usually average about 45-50rwhp gained, so I'm curious if the ETP's have the same kind of gain. From the flow numbers alone ETP is supposed to be better than AFR, but the results so far on the board suggest ETP's are not making any more power than AFR.
So is AFR still the king of cylinder heads for the ls1?

One thing the AFR 205's are good for is torque and midrange. The ports are the same size as a stock LS1 head, but flow ~40cfm better, so velocity is much improve. The other area besides flow numbers that dictates power is combustion shape. AFR's are notoriously efficient and create a good "swirl" effect. As to which head makes better power, I would guess that peak numbers will be nearly the same assuming a good tune, but the AFR's will outperform under the curve IMHO.
