new rings ?? ok i completed a compression test on my ls1 that is in my truck. it is from a 01 vette has the thin felpro headgasket on it along with a lpe gt1 cam. during my test #1 and #3 had a psi of 245-250 and all the others had 195-200. the high two had oil on the spark plug threads. now if those are the good ones and all the others have bad rings ( which make no since to me) then can i do a light hone on the block and throw in some new rings to get me along for awhile or should i put the ls1 crank and rods in my 4.8 to make it a high compression 5.3 and throw my cam in that until i can get a motor built. the 4.8 has like 15000 miles on it before i pulled it.

and how bad can piston slap be before its not just piston slap any more. mine is loud when cold but when it warms up it calms down.
here is a video of the piston slap i think it has gotten a little worse but maybe not to much.
